Re: DZ77RE-75K show only 4GB memory

I do not believe 3x4GB is a supported configuration for the DZ77RE-75K.

Your board supports (1 DIMM) in slot 1 or slot 3.

Your board supports (2 DIMMS, or 4 DIMMS) in Slots 1+2, or 1+2+3+4.

So I recommend adding a 4th 4GB DIMM, or remove one of the existing 3 DIMMs and move the remaining 2x4GB into slots 1+2.

See the diagram below for slot locations/numbers.

Memory specifications can be found here:

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dz77re-75k/sb/CS-033457.htm Intel Desktop Board DZ77RE-75K System memory

For guaranteed compatibility, I recommend going with something that is on the "Tested" list.

The specifications for the Corsair Ram you mention (CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R) says it is 1.65V, yet the DZ77RE-75K compatibility spec (linked above) states support only for 1.35v and 1.5v DIMMS. So I would hesitate to try the Corsair CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R modules with this board.

I cannot provide a specific link to any 8GB 2400Mhz known to work, because the only data I have available is the list of what Intel has tested/verified with the board -- and there are no 8GB 2400Mhz DIMMs on that list.

For reference, here is another link to the specifications and tested DIMM list.

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dz77re-75k/sb/CS-033457.htm Intel Desktop Board DZ77RE-75K System memory

Any DIMM which meets the specifications shown near the top of that page under "System memory features" *should* work. I can only verify that the DIMMs in the "Tested" list are stated by Intel to be compatible.

Hopefully some other DZ77RE-75K users will see this thread, and perhaps one of them has tested/verified a particular 8GB 2400Mhz DIMM and will be able to recommend it to you. Otherwise, you would need to work with your memory vendor to find one that meets the specification, then perform your own testing/verification of that particular DIMM.

I can neither confirm nor deny your assertion, as I don't have a DZ77RE-75K.

I have a DZ68BC, which is running pretty well with a i7-2600k. But I am very disappointed that all the BIOS releases beyond 0029 have generated lots of user complaints, and as a result feel "cheated" because I can't get the full capability promised for the DZ68BC without those later (and problematic) BIOS versions.

So I feel your pain, and Intel will not be at the top of my list for my next motherboard purchase.
