Replace CPU fan on board

Hello,

I'm trying to find a part number.

My desktop was dropped, and the CPU fan broke off of the mount.

I need to replace the fan.

Where is the best place to find which part would be compatible?

The board is AA G28805-402.

Thanks in advance!

Amber

Provide the processor model number. Then we can identify the socket. Knowing the socket, you can search for a fan that will fit that socket.

That's a DX79SI board, but that doesn't help us. Please provide processor model.

This is your processor: https://ark.intel.com/products/63698/Intel-Core-i7-3820-Processor-10M-Cache-up-to-3_80-GHz Intel® Core™ i7-3820 Processor (10M Cache, up to 3.80 GHz) Product Specifications

You will notice that it has socket 2011.

A quick search reveals these two fans, although there are a large number of fans that work for socket 2011.

Shockingly, these two fans appear to be identical:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=fan+fo... fan for i7-3820 - Newegg.com

Seems a bit pricey.

In this list of 23 fans that are socket 2011 compatible, the price varies widely:

Since Scott knows this motherboard and socket much better than I, we should wait for him to chime in. He is on travel and may take a bit to respond.

Thanks!!

I didn't hear back from Scott.

I want to go ahead and order a new fan.

If I find a CPU fan for a 2011 Socket - this will fit?

Cheers,

Amber

A lot of these fans on the NewEgg page are designed for rack-mount 1U/2U workstation boards and will not work on the DX79SI board. Here is a sampling of some that I think should be ok:
