Upgrade ram: Ddr3 200 pin exist?

hi everyone! I have a sony vayo vgn-fw21z with Intel Motherboard PM45 with Intel Core 2 duo T9400 with 2x2Gb Ram ddr2 200 pin. I have the possibility to change the CPU with a Intel Core 2 quad QX9300. And now the question: reading the characteristics of the motherboard I can improve my memory till 2x4Gb Ddr3 but every ddr3 I've found in internet has 204 pin. Only Ddr2 has 200 pin. Can I add to my laptop the ram with 204 pin?

Thank you so much

Your sony does not have an intel motherboard product. It does have an intel chipset (pm45) and an Intel processor.

Before you can do any upgrade, you need to ask sony what processors are compatible with their bios. Then, you can select from those processors.

An upgrade processor must be socket, chipset, and bios compatible.

And, that is only possible if the processor is not soldered to the motherboard (bga socket). Yours may be. Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9400 (6M Cache, 2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) Product Specifications,35562 Intel® Product Specification Comparison

Regarding going from ddr2 to ddr3, you cannot do this.

Rather than trying to squeeze some life out of your ten year old machine, discard it and upgrade to a new or newer machine that is supported.

And, if your intentions for this upgrade was for Windows 10, none of the hardware is supported on Windows 10.
