Coyote950,
The DH55TC board is equipped with support for Serial ATA (SATA) based Hard Disk, Solid-State and Optical (CD/DVD) drives. The connector in your picture is for the Parallel ATA (PATA) interface, also known as the Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE) interface. In order to support IDE-based drives in your PC, you will need to add one of the following:
- An expansion board, equipped with either a 1X PCI Express interface or a PCI interface, that adds IDE interfaces to your PC.
- A IDE to SATA adapter, which allows the IDE drive to be connected to one of the board's SATA interfaces.
- A IDE to USB adapter, which allows the PATA drive to be connected to one of the board's internal or external USB interfaces.
Such expansion boards and adapters can be purchased at a variety of online and retail stores. Search for them online using search strings such as "IDE Adapter", "IDE to SATA" and "IDE to USB".
