I updated the BIOS from version 039 to version 104.
Windows XP SP3 was installed, it worked without problem, but after the update has stopped working.
I tried to reinstall the operating system, but after a few seconds I get the following message: The installer is detecting the hardware configuration of your computer ...
It is frozen at this point.
I installed windows 7 without problems, mbr mode, but windows xp still unable to install.
The same result with UEFI BOOT "ENABLED" or "DISABLED"
I've also tested with BIOS 105: Same result
I think Windows XP MBR mode should install without problems

After the BIOS update was made, did you check if the SATA chipset mode in the BIOS remains as IDE?
You may want to set it as IDE and then try to boot up into windows* XP again.

I have done many tests:
With BIOS v. 039:
In AHCI mode starts Windows XP installation, but does not recognize the hard drive
In IDE mode Windows XP installed without problems. With the OS installed, you can install the AHCI drivers and Windows XP runs perfectly.
The BIOS update is also done smoothly:
1. upgrade to 099
Two. upgrade to 104-105
Then it will not start Windows XP. No matter, because I was just testing.
But I can not reinstall the system. It freezes the message The installer is detecting the hardware configuration of your computer ... and it does not advance
It's the same with IDE or AHCI

Have you tried creating a bootable copy of Windows* that includes the AHCI drivers and see if you are able to install the OS in AHCI mode.
You may want to access the following link:

I ran into the same problem trying to get Windows XP to install on a DH61AG after updating the BIOS past 0099. Whether I used the vanilla Windows XP SP3 media to load the machine, or whether I applied a customized wim containing the iastor driver(s) (AHCI), Windows would fail to boot. I never resolved the problem, and didn't go beyond BIOS 0045 for the systems where XP was necessary. The symptoms are exactly as you describe, it just hangs.
Windows 7 and 8 work fine though.
I wish I could help more.

Thanks for the replies.
I can not install the boot manager BootIt. Simply install disc does not start (the same disk booted perfectly with the 039 version). It seems that the bios does not let certain filesystems boot or boot files that do not recognize the device.
Anyway, I want to build a multi system PC, and my wife does not want to change his beloved Windows XP...

Hi Ignasi Lupon,
If you want to install Windows XP* and any other Windows version on you motherboard, you will need to install the older version first (Windows XP), and also you will need to do it using AHCI SATA Mode.
Please find the instructions here: http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/CS-029958.htm Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) — No floppy drive for F6 install of RAID driver

I have tested with BIOS 104 and 105 also with a XP Prof SP3 CD that includes AHCI drivers and doesn't start.

I don't have any of these motherboards left to test, so I'm not sure if it works or not.
