I think I am out of luck, did not work, I think the reason is your board hardware is newer than mine

yours is AAG28808-601 while mine is AAG28808-600

will try to edit the file a bit and check

Thank you so much for your help man

Hold on let me get this striaght,

You want this BIOS so that your MB support the Quad core processor, right??

That BIOS 'the one I sent' is specifically desinged to support the i7 3820

What exactly is the problem??

The AA has nothing to do with it

Sorry for the delay I just saw your message, I don't always check my mail.

You want me to save the BIOS file as 16MB in size?? I can do that

However, do not that the BIOS chip on our MB is 8 MB.

Just confirm if you want me to save it as 16MB but, I dont advise you to do it.

Are you sure the BIOS have been updated??

Hi Ziad Aghar,

Can you please forward the bios for this DX79SI motherboard to me. My motherboard also down, not giving display. I have confirmed it is Bios faulty. Tried the recovery option, didn't work. Please send it either in ".rom" or ".bin" format.

My board hardware revision : G28808-602,

my id : mailto:krishlutheesh@gmail.com krishlutheesh@gmail.com

Thank you for the help in advance.

Dear Sylvia I am using the latest BIOS & I didn't try to install any BIOS lately. I was asked to extract a BIOS file for a friend & send it to him. Albeit, it didn't work with him.

I think he wants the BIOS which was released to support the i3820 "same one I'm using".

I was on Gigabyte 680 SOC & now I'm on two Gigabyte 780 OC.

Don't mean to go off the thread but you guys at Intel need to support the PCIE 3.0 on the x79 platform. Now we will need it with these cards "had to force enable the Gen. 3.0 via a tool from Nvidia"

Ziad, thanks for the information, I would like to apologized; the information requested about the BIOS was for another user. I'm sorry.

Regarding the PCI 3.0, it is still under research.

Hi Sylvia,

1. I have tried the versions "553" and "559" to recover the BIOS. Unable to recover.

2. Since the board is not giving display, I am unsure about the current BIOS Version on the motherboard.

3. There is no model number mentioned on the processor, but I am pretty sure it is a Ivybridge-E processor.

(Motherboard Hardware revision # AA G28808-602)

4. I am using "Gigabyte" graphics card, Model # GV-NX62LTC256T

Regards,

LutheeshK
