old board needs a graphics card

Jump to solution

I'm new here and do not understand graphics boards but I have just installed an old board (D101GGS) so I may play some old games. The board has graphics but some of the games need more and am not sure which would be compatible. The manual says the board will accept a PCIE 16 card but does not indicate anything else. Will the current boards work or must I find an older version? If so, would someone please recommend something which will work, with specifics. I don't understand the current DDR2 or DDR3 memory compatibility or if it is relevant.

Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

Hello Terry,

We would like to inform you that this motherboard has been discontinued since 2008 reason why the information we offer is limited:

http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/dsktpboards/d101ggc Support for the Intel® Desktop Board D101GGC

Any PCI Express* card should work fine but our best recommendation is contacting the graphics card manufacturer directly to confirm compatibility information.

Dan,

Thank you, but I posted this in communities to see who had information to offer not to hear who didn't. This was my first Intel Board and my last. Thank you for confirming why.
