Intel Dz77ga-70k board and I7 2600k cpu setup.
I have all options for sleep mode, hybrid sleep mode turned off in the operating system. I have the hard disks set to never turn off as well. Not everytime but sometimes when i turn on computer (from completely powered off state) it shows post code 40.
It has also done this just from screen timeout ?????
POST Codes in the 0x40-0x4F range are reserved and thus any usage is not documented. It may be that a developer left debug code in the BIOS (though it's scary that it is hanging at this code). Regardless, it is not documented and the BIOS developers are long gone (Intel exited the Desktop Boards business years ago) so we cannot ask them what it means. My best guess, based upon your other postings, is that you are seeing a problem related to memory initialization. Again, just a guess; there are a lot of possibilities...
Not sure I have helped much here...
Since your system doesn't support Windows® 10 I recommend you to try any of the compatibles OS.

I may have (by posting different issues caused confussion) as it applies to some of my problems.
I am aware that windows 10 is not supported i just more or less have it installed to see if i like it.
My system is setup to boot into windows 7, 8.1, and 10. Each Operating system is on its own ssd. when booting to one OS i remove the sata cables from other two ssd.
This particular problem (post code 40 after startup or screen timeout does this with windows 7 and 10. I am hoping it is related to memory issues i am having and after buying supported memory it will fix this.
