"PerfTune has stopped working" when trying to run Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU)

I haven't seen anyone else discussing this, but I'm hoping for some help.

I have a DX58SO2 running windows 7 (64). I had been using XTU (2.1) for months to manage my systems fan speeds and it was great.

A few days ago I went to start XTU to check some settings but I get a "PerfTune has stopped working" error.

I uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. I also tried the fix of reinstalling the MS SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 with no success.

I get some error messages in what I think is the crash log text file, but I don't know if they mean anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
