Root access denied & MemoryError

I'm trying to populate a dataset with 5M instances. I am getting this error:

MemoryError: Unable to allocate 7.45 GiB for an array with shape (5000000, 200) and data type float64

I've tried to change the overcommit mode to 1 but I'm denied root access. How do I resolve this?

Please make sure that you are in compute node.

You could reach an interactive compute node by using the below command, once you are connected to DevCloud.

qsub -I

For your information, users don't have root access in DevCloud.

If the issue still persists, please let us know.
