Terminal multiplexers (e.g, GNU screen, tmux)

I see that DevCloud login nodes don't provide GNU screen or tmux. I have a general habit of always starting a terminal multiplexer when I connect to systems with SSH so that if I lose the connection, or need to disconnect and reconnect from somewhere else, I don't lose work. I realize that persistent screen or tmux sessions can use systems resources, but in practice they seem to be a good balance of improving user experience without being resource hogs. Does DevCloud provide any terminal persistence solutions to reduce the risk of lost work due to disconnects?

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

You can use DevCloud JupyterLab for tmux features in compute nodes.

That is an interesting alternative technique. I'd have to change my work habits quite a bit to shift from GNU screen / tmux to JupypterLab. Thanks for the response.
