Or is it best we get a fresh install with the latest Raspbian Stretch. The reason I'm asking is that as a student, we are limited with supplies and want to test the compute stick on an existing sd card/device.
If we decide to just install it on the sd card we have, will this somehow alter our existing configurations? We have no virtual environments installed. Any guidance would be extremely helpful.

@iba You can install on both a fresh RPi with Raspbian Stretch or an existing SD card with Raspian Stretch. I've found more success with a fresh install. You don't need to have any virtual environment software. More information on installation can be found at https://movidius.github.io/ncsdk/install.html.
