I posted this to the Github for the opensource OpenVino as well, but I wanted to get a good range of opinions.
I currently have a small machine with an i5-6500T processor in it. When I run a program I wrote that uses both pose detection and facial recognition I get reasonable results. I recently saw a similar small system with an i7-4765T. I know the i7 is newer, and according to versus.com, despite the i5 being rated higher, the i7 has more threads (8 vs 4), more L3 cache (2MB more), uses multithreading, and has more per core L3 cache (.5MB per core). Just wondering, do you guys think the i7 will give any performance gains? If so, do you think they would be significant enough to convince me to upgrade to the i7? (It would be a one time cost of about $150-$200). What about an i7-6700T?
Just looking for advice/opinions.
Thanks in advance!

Hi MarcJasner,
You can refer to Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit Benchmark Results for the inference performance on a specified hardware configuration. You can view the results by comparing among different Intel® Core™ processor and its generation.

Hi MarcJasner,
This thread will no longer be monitored since we have provided a suggestion. If you need any additional information from Intel, please submit a new question.
