Description The component already mounted on board. Upon inspecting on board level, sound can be heard from internal of the component, which we suspected the internal component is movable. We would like to know the possible cause for the scenario.

Hello WeiMei,

Could you please share the PVIN and VOUT noise waveform.

If the device is noise probably will be there is a sign for that noise on the Vout or PVIN waveforms.

Also what is the expecting loading condition for this device, if you can use the PMBUS dongle and use the GUI to read back the loading current it will be really helpful.

Regards,

Mostafa

Hi Mostafa, Good day to you! Would like to heads up to you that we are encountering noise for mechanical defect, not functional defect. The component have mounted on board, however during inspection performed, knocking noise from the component can be heard. It seems like the internal component under the shell is moving and knocking each other. Unfortunately, the team have rework out the component and we are unable to locate the defective unit to further investigate on the root cause. We would re-trigger to the forum if we found similar scenario again by filming the video upon we perform rework. Anyhow, is there any customer complaint/ feedback regarding the incident we described? Hi Lim Wei Mei,

Good day to you too!

Thanks a lot for your clarification. We didn't receive from our customers that they encounter that mechanical noise issue before.

Maybe its related to a soldering issue between the board and the device, so in this case re flow the part can help to fix that issue.

Regards,

Mostafa
