EM2130Lx PN clarification

Hello,

I have a simple question about the part number convention for the EMP213L parts. I've noticed that on digikey or mouser you can purchase either EM2130L02QI or EM2130L01QI. Are these equivalent parts? If so, why are their part numbers different?

Thank you,

James

Adding a little detail here.

Per Intel's link: https://buyfpga.intel.com/PartDetail?partId=6827334

It appears that the EM2130L01QI has a package case of: 100-PowerBQFN Module

Per Intel's link: https://buyfpga.intel.com/PartDetail?partId=7380341

It appears that EM2130L02QI has a package/case of: 104-PowerBQFN Module

Per Intel's link: https://buyfpga.intel.com/PartDetail?partId=6827335

It appears that EM2130H01QI has a package case of: 100-PowerBQFN Module. Note, this is not consistent with the datasheet which claims that the packaging is 104-PowerBQFN Module (which document is incorrect?).

On the EM2130x0xQI datasheet, part numbers EM2130L02QI and EM2130H01QI are both noted to have a package description off: 104-PowerBQFN Module. However, there is no mention of EM2130L01QI. In fact, I can't find any datasheet that explicitly mentions the EM2130L01QI (instead, all EM213 datasheets solely reference the EM2130L02QI part).

So my question still is, "what is the difference between EM2130L01QI and EM2130L02QI?" I believe that it the package casing, however I can't find any documentation to support this. My best guess is that all of the devices are 104-PowerBQFN Module packaging and that some of the components just have unused pins/pads but that all fit the 104-BQFN PCB footprint. Our design will incorporte EM2130H and EM2130L so knowing the actual PCB footprint for both is important.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

James

Hi James,

We are sorry for late response.

Regarding EM2130 part number differences: both of the parts are the same and have the same performance the only difference between both of them is the POK (Power OK) signal in EM2130L01QI is push pull but with EM2130L02QI has the option to select between Push pull or open drain based based on the selected PMBUS address.

You can refer to page 19 under the Power OK description for more information about EM2130L2QI setting.

 https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/ds/em2130l02_12873.pdf

All the EM21XX devices have 104 pins ( include 4 pins underneath the package) and all of them are pin to pin compatible.

Regards,

Mostafa
