EN6347QA BTMP pin connectivity

Hello,

Can you please advise what's the recommended connectivity of the BTMP pin?

It is referred to as "bottom plate ground", but isn't connected to GND on board.

Is it connected to GND internally?

What are the expected implication of having it connected to GND on board?

Thanks,

David.

Hello @David_D ,

We are relay sorry for late response.

BTMP pin is the Bottom plate pin for the high side PMOS and it is not connected to GND internally and it should not.

This pin can be considered as same as the boot strap cap that needed for the high side MOSFET to turn it on and off.

So shorting this to GND, will cause the high side MOS always on and this could damage the part due to the high short circuit current when the low side MOSFERT turn ON.

So it is important to disconnect this pin form GND.

The recommendation also to use 220nF between the BTMP and PG pins and 520R between the PG and PVIN incase you have a high ambient temp.

Thanks,

Mostafa
