PDN of Stratix Gx F55 device.Despite having ignored all the parameters (via,spreading ,vrm,...) ,the Zv curve (Zh=Zv+Zs) has a minimum value of 0.55m.How can reduce this value ? what is a formula for calculation this value ?

We used PDN fore core power supply decoupling scheme of Stratix Gx F55 device.Despite having ignored all the parameters (via,spreading ,vrm,...) ,the Zv curve (Zh=Zv+Zs) has a minimum value of 0.55m.How can reduce this value ? what is a formula for calculation this value ?

Hello there , Can I assume you are using the stratix 10 GX device ? Here is the link for the Ztarget equation. https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/programmable/us/en/pdfs/literature/an/an574.pdf from my understanding reducing the Ztarget (i.e I assume your zh is Ztarget ) for your design , Placement of the decoupling cap in PCB near to the FPGA Vcore BGA pin. I would say Zeffective more related to the PCB than circuitry.Can you let me know how i can help further. Thank you , Regards, Sree

My question is : Despite having ignored all the parameters (via,spreading ,vrm,...) ,the Zv curve (Zh=Zv+Zs) has a minimum value of 0.55m, why did not have 0m ?

(If i understand : Zv BGA Via impedance and Zs is the PCB spreading impedance ) ,Despite i ignored all this parameters in the PDN but Zv remains bigger than to 0.2m
