Error: C9555E: Failed to check out a license.

Hi,

 

I have a licence that came with the Altera V Soc Dev Kit board. I have the ARMLMD_LICENCE_FILE set to point to the lic file. From within DS5 managed make projects the toolchain works find. If I want to call the compiler from a makefile outside of the DS5 ( from Cygwin console ) I get the "failed to check out a licence" error message..........

 

Is the licence somehow only working from within DS5 / Eclipse and if so why and wtf?

Hello, Based on my understanding, Both a Quartus and ARM need a valid license. Could you verify on this? For ARM license, you need to go through the DS-5 license manager / go to the ARM web site https://silver.arm.com/ where you will have to register. You can refer to ARM user guide. https://rocketboards.org/foswiki/Documentation/GettingADS5License
