Having upgraded Flexlm to 11.19.5.0 and alterad to 11.19.5.0 on a license server running on Ubuntu 22.04. Other daemons start successfully but alterad repeatedly crashes with error:
alterad exited with status 0 signal = 17
Any ideas of solutions, what this error means or further debug I can do to solve this?
Thanks!

Does the altera daemon use LM_A_LINGER? Does the alterad daemon suffer from the issue below?

When I delete the TIMEOUTALL option from our opts file the daemon stays up and doesn't crash. This seems like a bug introduced in the alterad daemon. We really need the TIMEOUTALL function to reclaim inactive licenses. Please can you make available an updated daemon without this issue?

I have now also tried flexlm 11.19.6.0 with alterad to 11.19.6.0 and experience the same issue. It looks like a fix is available in FlexNet Publisher 11.19.6.1. When will this version of the daemon be available? We are currently prevented from upgrading our daemon to make use of newer versions of Quartus Pro.

Hi,
The issue is not coming from Altera FPGA. I would suggest you to contact FlexNet instead to get the issue resolved.
Apologies but we're unable to support this. If you have a new question, feel free to open a new thread to get the support from Altera experts.
Thanks

The issue is with the alterad executable, which I believe is provided by Altera but built on FlexNet software. FlexNet have a fix for the issue as described above but Altera must incorporate it into a newer version of the daemon. The Altera licensing daemon needs to use at least FlexNet version 11.19.6.1.
