I tried to access the licensing center two ways:

  1. the Email from Intel told me to go to the website https://fpgasupport.intel.com/AlteraLicensing/license/index.html when I click on this url the web page the message is HTTP Status 404 – Not Found
  2. I log into My Intel and select Intel® FPGA Self Service Licensing Center. The Web Page says the following:

HTTP Status 400 – Bad Request

Type Exception Report

Message Request header is too large

Description The server cannot or will not process the request due to something that is perceived to be a client error (e.g., malformed request syntax, invalid request message framing, or deceptive request routing).

Exception

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Request header is too large

org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11InputBuffer.parseHeaders(Http11InputBuffer.java:573)

org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.service(Http11Processor.java:311)

org.apache.coyote.AbstractProcessorLight.process(AbstractProcessorLight.java:66)

org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol$ConnectionHandler.process(AbstractProtocol.java:836)

java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:1149)

java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:624)

org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.TaskThread$WrappingRunnable.run(TaskThread.java:61)

java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:748)

Note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the server logs.

I have used the self licensing in the past, but not since I renewed my license last year. What should I do to set up my license.

I saw another url in the email:

4. For licensing support and collaterals, visit https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/support/training/demonstrations/online/licensing/onl-licensing.html.

I went to this page where I then selected the License Renewal Users Guide. This document contained the following URL:

https://fpgasupport.intel.com/Licensing/license/index.html

Which took me to the Licensing Center where I was able to create my new license.

Problem solved.
