Questa*-Intel FPGA Edition Licensing Issue

Hello Intel Community -

In October 2024 I successfully installed and licensed (fixed) Quartus Prime Lite Edition and Questa-Intel FPGA on my Windows desktop.  I've recently tried to repeat this process on my Windows laptop without success.  In Quartus, the License Setup section is completely blank (screenshot attached).

I've tried both the "License file:" method and the "Use LM_LICENSE_FILE variable:" method without luck.  The sections for "Current license" and "Licensed AMPP/MegaCore Functions:" remain blank.  The "Local system info" section is populated correctly with my laptop's NIC ID and C: drive serial number.

I've tried several restarts of my windows laptop and uninstalling / reinstalling Quartus Prime Lite Edition as well.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Did you recently generate the file? Other posts were showing that the license generator was not creating proper files (everything was commented out). Maybe you need to regenerate the file.

If it wasn't obvious, you can't use the same license file for two different computers.

Yes good point, I wasn't clear on this detail in my initial question.

I did request & receive a unique license file from Intel for my windows laptop with the new NIC ID.  So unfortunately, the issue cannot be explained by improper license file sharing.

Thanks for this tip!  I regenerated a fresh license file and this issue was resolved.

*Please note... I did have to use the environmental variable method this time around and a computer restart was required to get Questa operating properly.*
