After installing Quartus Prime Lite Edition when we try and start the Questa FPGA software, a black screen flashes on the screen and then disappears and the application does not run.

Sorry to hear the bad experience that you were facing, let me try to fix it for you. Can you provide me your operating system info and which edition of Quartus Prime Lite were you installing ?

Hi Hubert,

 

Sure.  We're running Windows 11 (23H2) and I've installed Quartus Prime Lite 23.1.1.  Quartus seems to run fine but when try to run Questa, a black window pops up for a fraction of a second and disappears.  I've looked at the Event Viewer and it doesn't show anything.  I don't have a license or anything and I'm not sure if there is any configuration that needs to be done.  Unfortunately, this is my 1st experience with this software and I'm at a loss.  Thanks for your help.

Thanks for providing me the details. Noticed that you didn't have a license for the Questa which causing the black screen flashes and closing the application automatically.


Here's the solution which could solve your issue

---> You need to apply a license before you can proceed using the Questa

---> Please go the link below, it will direct you to the license page

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683472/21-4/request-a-license-file-from-the-self.html

---> Kindly follow the steps to apply for the license


You can choose to apply a "NO COST" license so that you won't be charged and you can run your Questa smoothly
