Today we are replacing 11.1 Update 2 (11.1.046) with Update 2 Revised (11.1.048). The only change is to fix the Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 compiler hang but for the IA-32 to Intel 64 and IA-32 to IA-64 cross compilers, which we missed earlier. If you don't use these with Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 and already have 11.1.046 installed, there is no benefit to installing Update 2 Revised. There is no impact on generated code.

We are also repackaging the IMSL install for the same issue (install hang) - again, if you already have IMSL installed, you don't need to do it again.

If you have questions, you can ask them in a reply here.

We have a problem that our code fails doing deallocations sometimes when running 11.1.048. The same problem doesn't exist using previous releases. I tried to get other releases from the registration center download page, but it seems only 048 is available. Why doesn't the Update (Build #) have a pulldown for 11.1 like it does for all the other release levels?

It's because we consider the previous 11.1 versions to have a serious problem with the faiure to install or run on a growing number of systems. If you absolutely need an earlier 11.1, submit a request to Intel Premier Support and we will help you out.

If you previously installed it on your PC you may still have the installer there - look under Program FilesIntelDownload.

Please do report the problem with 048, either here or through Premier Support.
