I've tried twice to install the Fortran compiler on my laptop
[Win7 / 64bit / Home Premium] and it fails, with the following below.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks

Processing package 7 of 16...

Error dialog:

Error: 2203. Database: c:\\Windows\\Installer\\191e5f.ipi. Cannot open
database file. System error - 2147287035.

On clicking OK I then get the "Intel Composer Xe 2011 Update 3 for
Windows installation" dialog stating:

Error while installing package "Program
Files(x86)\\Intel\\Download\\w_fcompxe_novsshell_2011.3.175\\Installs\\1033\\w_cprosc_em64t_p_12.0.175\\w_cprosc_em64t_p_12.0.175.msi"
Fatal error during installation.

On clicking the OK button I then get the Error dialog:

Error 1310.Error writing to file c:\\Config.Msi\\191e6b.rbf. Verify that
you have access to that directory.

and then proceeds to roll back the installation.

Long shots:

o what are the values of %TMP% and %TEMP% in the environment where you attempted installation?

Disable any background programs you may have running, such as antivirus or backup. Sometimes these can interfere with installs. I get those errors sometimes with all sorts of programs from different vendors. If the error box has a Retry button, click it until the problem goes away.
