Dave,

Please verify that the customer really wants to develop for IA-64, which is Intel Itanium processors. Many customers get confused here (easy to do) and ask about IA-64 when what they really want is what we call Intel 64 (or x64). See http://intel.ly/mXIljK for an explanation of Intel architectures.

If the customer really is developing for Intel Itanium processors, then they would need the Intel Visual Fortran Professional Edition 11.1 product, as Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE does not support development for Itanium. The customer will need to install Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5* before installing Intel Fortran. This will provide command-line only building.

If the customer really does mean Intel 64/x64, then there is nothing else to buy or install - Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE 2011 includes everything they need.
