I just upgraded to a new PC running Windows 7. CPU is a Dual Pro 2800 (not Extreme). I had been running both C++ and Fortran compilers under the older Visual Studio shell on my older computer running windows XP
I need all three compilers (Fortran, C++, and Visual Basic) on this new machine, preferably running under a Visual Studio shell, as the learning curve is minimal for this configuration.
I have a couple of questions.
1) If I get the Intel compiler Suite Prof.Edition Vers.11.1 will it run using the current Visual Studio 2008 release? 2) Does Visual Basic come with the Visual Studio release (either Standard or Professional)?
3) When will the current Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 be released for sale and will it be compatible with the Intel Compiler Suite Ver.11.1?
I need to get a stable configuration on the new machine to meet work requirements.
Thanks for any guidance.

Hi,

Sure.
2) Does Visual Basic come with the Visual Studio release (either Standard or Professional)?
Yes. try yourself, you can get trial (90-days) here.
3) When will the current Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 be released for sale and will it be compatible with the Intel Compiler Suite Ver.11.1?
Steve will know the definite answer, most probably with some delay, but yes.

We are not planning on supporting VS2010 until after the retail release - we don't support betas. Our experience is that Microsoft makes incompatible changes during betas right up to the final release.
Betas are not "released for sale", anyway. Microsoft has said that VS2010 will launch in April. We are certainly working on our VS2010 integration and will make it available as soon as possible after the VS2010 retail launch. Note that MSDN subscribers may get access to VS2010 before the retail launch.
VS2008 will work just fine.
