Hello -

I was doing fine with my 11.0 Beta version, and I do have an active subscription until this coming September for your IV Fortran.

Now all of a sudden, I get this message "a license for BetaFcompW could not be obtained."
Should I assume there was a "drop dead" date for your Beta version?
I did download an evluation copy of 11.0, says its good for another 26 days or so. I installed the second choice, which said "VS 2008 already installed for IA-32" Actually I tried putting that on an older compiler, but it has a Pentium 3, so the architecture is not compatible with your IVF 11.0. So that was a bust. . . .

Should I be able to get an active license that'll last me until September?

I'm not sure where they are stored, but apparently my 11.0 Beta license doesn't work any more.

What should I do next? I have VS 2008 installed.

Thanks; Bill

The beta license for 11.0 expired January 30. Look in Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicenses and find the .lic file which was for the beta (probably has a file name starting with BETA.) Delete it. The beta compiler requires a beta license. We don't want people to keep using the beta compiler forever.

You say you have a valid commercial license good through September. That means you should be able to log in to the Intel Registration Center and download the latest, 11.0.066. I checked and you do indeed have such a license.

As you found, the 11.0 compiler requires a PC that supports SSE2 instructions - Pentium 4 or later.

Thanks for your response -

OK, I did install the newest IVF 11.0, and deleted the old Beta license as you requested. So I'm Ok for right now..

But I am still not clear on one thing - My license file is now EMPTY, and I have 26 days to go before this 11.0 IVF evaluation period expires.

What happens then? Do I need to grab another license file from somewhere, or does someone need to send it to me when I request it? Do I need to contact your sales people before then?

Excuse my ignorance - -

Yours; Bill

If you have a paid up license, you have recovery routes at https://registrationcenter.intel.com:
If you have registered it, and log into the same account, it will appear on a list, and allow you to get a fresh copy.
If you didn't register it, but know the serial number, you can register it at that site.
If neither works, you can submit a request for someone to look you up and email you a copy of the license.

Now i am REALLY confused - -

I can't register it without a serial number.
Since it's an evaluation copy, there is no serial number.

So, now what?

The preceding exchange indicated that you had a purchased commercial license. If you put a copy of that license in your licenses directory, you should be able to continue using the evaluation compiler, if that's what you want. You also have the option of upgrading at registrationcenter.

Log in to the registration center with your email address and password. You will see a list of products you're licensed for, and if you click one, you'll see the serial number for that license. You can select that and ask it to email you a .lic file or you can use the serial number to install.

If you still have trouble with this, let me know and I'll have the license file sent to you by email.
