I would like to know if the IVF 8.1 compiler is fully compatible (in 64-bit) with the AMD Opteronprocessor.

Yes - though the 64-bit compiler has to be downloaded from Intel Premier Support File Downloads. It has a filename starting with w_fce. For Opteron, use the /QxW code generation switch.
