Hi,
I am using Visual Studio 2010 and have installed the latest update of ComposerXE-2011. Everything worked fine until yesterday when more or less suddenly Visual Studio started to be unable to compile my soure files. I cann't say what I did, but suddenly all icons of my *.for or *.f90 files in all projects and in all solutions changed in the "solution explorer" from the typical one with the vertical arrow and the two lines of dots to the one used in explorer for Fortran files. Visual Studio still recognises the files as Fortran Source code and the editor displays the correct color code, however, I cannot compile the files anymore (a right click on the file name does not show the option "Compile", in the "Properties" screen, only the "Custum Build Step" is shown and when I call the build, I don't get any error message, apparently, everything went well, however, nothing is done (no .obj and no .exe are built). A command-line compilation still works.
I have tried to uninstall Visual Studio and Composer, reinstalled everything from scratch - no change. I tried also to install an older version of Composer, the same problem. I have also built completely new solutions with a simple hello world program - the same.
Does anybody have any idea what is happening?
Thanks, Hermann

Do I have to copy the file to a specific place? I get the following error message:
Error while opening VS2008 registry key: Access denied
By the way, the file is called ...VS10 (I guess for 2010), why does it search VS2008?
Cheers, Hermann

Sorry - should have said that if you're on Vista or Win7, right click and Start as Administrator.
I may not have edited the text of that correctly - will check it when I get to work tomorrow.

I have corrected the program and attached it to the article on correcting problems with Visual Studio Integration.

Thanks for your efforts, Steve, but now, I am having a real mess. It seems that the former version of RepairVS10Integration worked when starting it as administrator (the new one as well), however it didn't have any effect. So I uninstalled everything (Visual Studio and Composer, erased the directories and reinstalled everything. Now, when trying to open a solution in Visual Studion, I get plenty of error messages. Visual Studio doesn't find a whole lot of files like
Microsoft.Data.Entity.Designe.BoostrapPackage
Language Package
RadLangSvc.Package, RadLangSvc.VS
VSTS for Database Professionals Sql Server Data-tier Application
Thanks for your help, Hermann

I wonder if you have something on your system that corrupts files. Perhaps you should first concentrate on getting VS to load before installing Fortran. I suggest uninstalling, deleting the Visual Studio 10.0 folder, rebooting, and then installing VS first. Make sure it loads correctly. Then exit and install Fortran.

Fiddeling around with all possible and impossible things, I finally run into an avalanche of problems so that I had to reinstall the whole system. Now, everything is working.
Thanks, Hermann
