From a related post I gathered that the "Tools">>"OLE/COM Object Viewer" can be used to look at properties of the COM objects installed on your system.
But I dont see the Tools > OLE/COM viewer under my Tools in VS2008+IVF11. I also looked in the menu items in the start menu to no avail..
I also found the Windows 2000 Resource Kit Tool : OLE/COM Object Viewer (oleview.exe). Is this the same tool? I suspect its not, but am somewhat confused..
any ideas? thanks in advance!

Try Start Menu->All Programs->Microsoft Windows SDK v6.0A->Tools->OLE-COM Object Viewer.
That is installed with the full versions of Visual Studio 2008 (e.g. I got it with Visual Studio 2008 Team Developer edition). I'm not sure whether it comes with the Visual Studio 2008 Shell edition.
