Problem installing Compaq Fortran 6.6
I have a problem during installing CVF 6.6.
On 90% of installing tere is a error:
"Unexpected error while copying files. Please reboot your computer and retry the installation.
If the problem persists, contact Compaq Computer Corp".
Rebooting does not help.

What OS are you trying to install on? It is unlikely to run on Win7+. See here https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/283504

You didn't say whether your xp is 32 or 64 bit. Nor did you say whether you tried browsing down the install folder on the CD to the actual setup.exe which doesn't require 16bit script mode.

All I can suggest is to temporarily disable any antivirus protection. I don't recall seeing reports of a similar error, but CVF went away 11 years ago so I may have forgotten.
