Users of VS2005 are advised by Intel to migrate to VS2008 to ensure the proper functioning of coming versions of Parallel Studio. As far as I remember the two versions of VS can be used simultaneously with Windows 7. Is the integration of Parallel Studio (C/C++ and Fortran) in a second version of VS (VS2008) hassle-free? Or should I be prepared for some kind of unusual behavior during installation or program development?

It works fine. I have VS2005, 2008 and 2010 installed on my Windows 7 system and use them all. I would recommend VS2010 if you were going to buy now. The current Fortran will integrate into all supported VS versions you have installed.
