Hello,
I have Intel Parallel Studio XE 2015 Fortran installed on a Windows computer. It works fine.
I have an active license. I downloaded the executable image to install Fortran 2016 from the registration center. I installed the Microsoft Windows SDK 8.1 successfully. (I have Visual Studio 2010 installed.) When I run the installation executable, a screen appears asking me to give permission to run the program. I have administrator rights on the computer. I give permission. A message box appears prompting me to enter the folder for the product package. I chose the default, leaving checked the box to remove temporary extracted files after installation. A box then appears indicating the files are being extracted. A splash screen for the compiler installation appears. A very tiny message box shows various files being accessed, and then the entire process dies. I have tried this quite a few times, always with the same results. I have checked my computer to verify it satifies requirements. It does.
Any suggestions?

The underlying issue in this case involved a connection issue with the WMI service which appeared not to be functioning on the target system. Connection failures with the WMI service can cause installation issues with the Intel Parallel Studio XE 2016 initial release.
In the Parallel Studio XE 2016 Update 1 release, the installation no longer depends on the result of the WMI request and thus the installation can now continue even in the case of a non-working WMI service.
Refer to following article about the WMI service diagnostic and solutions on how to resolve issues with that: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff406382.aspx. On this page, as advised in the opening, it is recommend you run the WMI Diagnosis Utility first.
