Vintage compile transfer to new OS

I have Intel Fortran compiler version 7.0 which was installed on RedHat 8. I just installed new OS, Ubuntu 7.1, and am trying to get the fortran compiler installed.
Ubuntu does not take RPM files directly. I used "alien" to convert rpm to deb (Debian) and installed compiler package. This all went O.K. Compiler is in /opt as before. But now I have a license problem. How do I get the compiler to work???

This post is appropriate for the Intel Fortran Compiler for Linux and Mac OS, not Windows. We should be able to relocate the thread shortly.

Probably too late now, but you could have captured a copy of your license (.lic) file from /opt/intel/licenses under RH8 before installing Ubuntu and then dropped the file into this directory after re-installing the compiler.

An alternative is for you to log into the Intel Registration Center and request a copy of your license or submit a Premier issue from Intel Premier Support requesting assistance with obtaining a copy of your earlier license. There are facilities available at the Intel Registration Center site to help you obtain your login ID and password if you do not remember those. The same account credentials are used for both Intel Premier Support and the Intel Registration Center.

I expect your license is also expired at this time. Were you using a commercial or non-commercial license?
