Visual C++ Fails to Load Fortran Correctly

During installation of the Visual Fortran compiler 8.0, Visual C++ is started but returns a message "Package 'Intel Fotran Project Package' has failed to load properly ( GUID = {B68A201D-CB9B-47AF-A52F-7EEC72E217E4} )". After installation, Visual C++ will return an identical error when the "About" menu option is selected.
I have attempted a complete uninstall of Fortran and Visual C++ with no success fixing this problem. I'm using Windows XP Professional and Visual C++ .NET 2003. Any help identifying the source of this problem would be greatly appreciated.

8.0, eh? That's pretty old by now.

I remember seeing this some time ago. Haven't seen it in a long time.

Probably a fix is to uninstall Fortran, do a Reinstall/Repair of VS.NET, and reinstall Fortran.

I strongly suggest getting 9.0, or even a fairly recent 8.1, which will help a lot with VS.NET integration problems.
