Was anybody able to install Visual FORTRAN on a Windows-7, 64-bit platform?
I tried it in several different ways, but failed repeatedly. Is there any trick?
or is it just not yet developed?

Visual Studio 2010 Beta is not supported. Download the "full" product I mentioned that includes Visual Studio 2008 Shell.

Are you installing Intel Visual Fortran or Compaq Visual Fortran? Intel Visual Fortran installs and works fine on 64-bit Windows 7, Compaq Visual Fortran does not. What is the failure?

I first tried to run the file:

w_cprof_p_11.1.051_intel64.exe

which I downloaded from the Intel web site. The message I got was:
ntel Visual Fortran Compiler Professional Edition for Windows* installation can continue, but take note

The Intel Visual Fortran Compiler Professional Edition for Windows* requires that a Microsoft* development product be installed. Refer to the Release Notes for a list of the required Microsoft* development tools.
Installation can continue; however, you will have to enter full path for installed Microsoft Platform SDK.

The following components can not be installed:
- Integration(s) in Microsoft Visual Studio*
- Intel Parallel Debugger Extension
- Integrated Documentation
Installation can continue; however, these components will not be installed because they require that a supported Microsoft* development tools be installed. Refer to the Release Notes for a list of the required Microsoft* development tools.

When later I installed all the Microsoft SDK's I could find on the Microsoft web site (via Visual Studio, which was successfully installed), still did not work.
Does anything sound wrong in what I did so far?

Thanks!

The Fortran install did not see a supported Visual Studio installed on your system.

Since you say you do have Visual Studio, please do this: In Visual Studio, click Help > About. Click the "Copy Inrfo" button and then paste into a reply here. This will help me understand the problem so I can give you a solution.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 01018-315-4422943-70620

Did you see Steve's mention of "supported Visual Studio?" You may be able to set up ifort.cfg et al so as to run command line, but you are asking the installer to see a version of VS which didn't exist when it was designed, and may not when its successor is designed.
I can't tell from your reply whether 64-bit C++ is present.

Visual C++ is present, but allows building Win32 codes only.

I've encountered the same problem with microsoft visual studio 2010 ultimate. Is intel visual fortran not working with the 2010 visual studio edition?
These issues came out when I tried to install Intel Visual Fortran Compiler Professional 11.0.072 :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This machine lacks Microsoft Visual Studio* software.
Installation can continue; however, Installation will not be able install Integration(s) in Microsoft Visual Studio*.
Suggestion: Install Microsoft Visual Studio* software on this machine.
This machine lacks a supported Microsoft* development products.
Installation can continue; however, you will have to enter full path for Microsoft SDK or cancel
installation.
While I've installedmicrosoft visual studio 2010 ultimate with this specs:

Do you have any suggestion on how to solve this problem? Or should I just install other edition of microsoft visual studio (maybe 2010 edition is not supported for this)? Thank you very much for the help.

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 is not currently supported. Support is planned for the next major release late this year.

For the older 11.0.072 compiler you're installing, you must install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition or higher, or Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition or higher.

ok, so I've installed intel visual fortran with microsoft visual studio 2008 professional edition and it works just fine. thank you very much for your info of VS 2010 not supported for visual fortran. my brother insisted that since VS 2010 is a higher edition than 2008, it will work out just fine. I'll tell him that this will happen in the next major release, and until then he'll just have to deal with VS 2008 =)
thanks again, very helpful

You're welcome. Glad that worked out for you. Your brother only has a few months to wait. :)
