Hello,
I am trying to debug a DX9 Application. I have had no luck with PixWin 2010 so I'm trying Intel GPA. Unfortunately the application crashes as soon as I take a snapshot.
I've looked at the callstack and it is wildly out of the range of the application - it crashes down far somewhere into a DX API call, by throwing a GT:GtException (?) in shimd3d32.dll

Thanks for all the good info. Any chance you can try it out on an Intel platform? Though GPA usually works on AMD and NVIDIA, we can't guarantee that.

Thank you for your answer. I do not have an Intel GPU and I do not want to buy one for this purpose specifically. Is this an AMD driver problem?
I tried with my older Nvidia GTX 770 just to be sure, and encountered the same issue.
Should I be reaching out to AMD for this? With what information?
Cheers

You can try PIX, RenderDoc or AMDs RGP. But with an NVIDIA card probably best to use NVIDIA's Nsight Graphics. Without an Intel processor or GPU, you won't get much profiling info.
