Deployment: IPP 8.1 redist\intel64\ipp folder has 1033/1041 folders

Hi:

I am planning to upgrade from 2.0 to 8.1

There are 2 folders named 1033 and 1041 under redist\intel64\ipp folder. They both have "ippmsg.dll" file.

What are they used for?

In IPP 2.0, those 2 folders do not exist.

Do we need to have those two  folders packaged and deployed on target machine in addition to the dll files  in ipp folder?

Or is it sufficient to  have only  the dlls (and not 1033 and 1041 folders)?

Please help!

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your asking. I copy the answer here, so more peoples can benifit

the ippmsg.dlls are catalog dll.

1033\ipp_msg.dll    is   Catalog of Intel IPP messages in English

1041\ipp_msg.dll    is   Catalog of Intel IPP messages in Japanese

You may use depend.exe to see if your application depend on the dll, if no, then you don’t need distribute them.   If yes, you need one of them. you may need to keep the directory structure if possible.

According to my experience, if you only use the general image processing codes, the dlls are not needed.

Best Regards,

Ying
