H.264, PXA270 and IPP

I have some questions about IPP on PXA270.
1. Does IPP use the DSP instruction in Xscale, such as SMLAxy32?
2. I noticed IPP5.0 can support H.264. However, I doubt if PXA270 has enough power to do it. I want to decode H.264@320*240, 25fps on PXA270, is it possible? If it's OK, how fast processor do I need? PXA270@520 or PXA270@624?
Thanks.

Hi, yes it is possible to decode in real time 320x240 H.264 video on Xscale processor. Please download IPP media sample and try on real system.

Regards,
Vladimir

What about to run H264 encoder on PXA270?

you need to use IPP for IXP to build media sample. You will be able to run it on PXA270, just need to note that IPP for IXP does not contain WMMX optimization.
