Queries on Intel IPP

Hi,

We have a commercial software application that uses Intel IPP (version "2017.0.0" as per the "ippversion.h" header file). The IPP libraries are statically linked with our application software.

We would like to evaluate and incorporate the latest Intel IPP libraries available with oneAPI Base Toolkit (free license version). A quick review after installation showed that the following header and library files are not available in the latest version of IPP available with oneAPI.

Header files not available:
Ippdefs90legacy.h, Ippi90legacy, ippi90legacy_redef, Ippm90legacy, ippm90legacy_redef
Lib files not available:
Ippi90lgcmt, ippm90lgcmt

Could you please let us know if there are any specific instructions to handle these files while upgrading to the latest Intel IPP?

Due to some constraints, if we are unable to upgrade our software application to the latest version of Intel IPP (available with oneAPI Base Toolkit), can we continue to develop and ship our software application with the existing version of Intel IPP (version "2017.0.0"). Which EULA/licenses will be applicable in such scenario?

There are few new joiners in our application development team. Does Intel IPP EULA/license require these new developers to register with Intel for free license of oneAPI Base Toolkit?

Thanks,
Regards,
Sudarshan

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Yes, you are right. Starting with IPP 9.0 several functions were deprecated and they are not part of the latest IPP releases.

Intel has made it available through a separate package which is called "Legacy Libraries". This package is independent of the Intel IPP product and this legacy package contains the major removed functions in Intel 9.0 as well as from the previous IPP releases.

These legacy libraries need to be used with IPP 9.0 or later versions (Intel IPP 2017, Intel IPP2018) of main packages. You can get the main packages of Intel IPP by downloading and installing the oneAPI Basetoolkit.

Please refer to the below article for full details which also contains the links to get IPP legacy packages for Linux*, Windows* or OSX*.
