Application framework for web development

Since there is built-in Node.JS, does it include a browser and server so that web app (like html/Angular JS) can be deployed on the same target? If yes, does it support both in Ostro OS and Ostro XT? Does 550x is powerful enough to support such web development?

hey txh3157, I don't believe there is a web browser in Ostro OS, but you should be able to implement a web server easily. Just make sure you unblock your ports first (https://software.intel.com/en-us/node/672327 https://software.intel.com/en-us/node/672327) There's a simple example in the XDK called Web Sockets that works well (just make sure to use on-board LED 103, there is an issue with LEDs 100-102 and MRAA at the moment)

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by 'powerful enough to support web development', do you mean developing on target? I guess the answer is it depends on what exactly you're trying to do.

Hi txh,

I been doing some research and haven't find anything about a web browser for Ostro OS. So just as soccerdog9 suggested a web server would be the solution for this. In hardware and software terms, both platforms (550x and 570x) should be able to handle this easily.
