Numerous embedded systems provide a mechanism for Brown Out Detection. Is this feature provided with the Intel Joule?
Typically an interrupt occurs. And a "reset source" register contains bread crumbs regarding the "Brown Out" event on the next power up.

Hello floydg,
Thanks for reaching out!
Checking Joule's datasheet, I was not able to find any feature similar to a brown out detector. For a brown out, I understand a short dip in the power supply, is this also what you are referring to? If so, please let me see if I can find out if there are any similar features implemented on Joule.
I'll get back to you as soon as I have any useful updates.

Hello floydg,
We have an update for this case.
Unfortunately, we've found out that the Intel Joule Platform does not support brown out detection. If this is needed, you will need to use an external circuit as a solution.
In case you are still interested in using a brown out detector, you can use a circuit similar to the one explained in the following document: http://www.scienceprog.com/microcontroller-brown-out-detection/
