C compiled file using eclipse crash after 5 Minutes

Hi,

I saw a post discuss about /thread/99180?start=0&tstart=0 Sketch Crash After 5 Minutes. But the problem was solved using https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24910/Intel-Edison-Software-Release-2-1?httpDown=htt... Intel Edison Software Release 2.1 . However, i tried to re-flash the new image which is version 146, But the crashing still happen. I am using update-rc.d to put my C application to run on startup.

Hello cheyne,

The 146 image has better stability when using the Arduino IDE, if you are using Eclipse using the 146 image won't help you, so I would suggest you to flash your board to the latest image (which can be found in http://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/edison/downloads Intel® Edison Downloads). My guesses would be that there might be something wrong with the script itself or that something could be wrong with update-rc.d. Does your script work fine when uploading it from Eclipse? I mean, if you don't start it using update-rc.d.

Peter.

Hi Peter,

It can run more than 5 minutes by using eclipse in debug mode. However, when i put it to run on its own upon startup using update-rc and it just go unresponsive. Pls advise.

Hi Peter,

Solved the issue by writing a script to run my application instead. Thanks!
