CAN in INTEL-EDISON

Hi,

Since Intel - Edison have no can ports, i heard that we can use Arduino shields to implement it.

I am using Intel - Edison kit for Arduino. How can i use Arduino shields for CAN purpose.

Looking forward for answer. please help

Hello arunquest,

You're right; the Edison doesn't have CAN ports. You should try to use external circuitry, for example an Arduino shield. My recommendation would be to check the datasheet of the shields so you could know how the shield interfaces with the board, let's say for example, through SPI. Anyhow, a discussion about the usage of CAN interface with Edison has been discussed before, please check the following thread, it contains different suggestions from other users:
