Can I dual boot as well or even have andriod 4.4 on it as well?
It is possible to do a dual boot. Here you can find a very good article:
IF you are trying to do this on the Compute Stick, it has not been validated yet and deleting the original Operating System will void the warranty.
Thanks for your reply. I;m familiar with dual-booting but I was wondering if there would be any OEM locks on the Ubuntu version that will prevent me from installing Windows.
I'm concerned after reading this (although this is Windows locking out other OS): http://www.techtimes.com/articles/41580/20150323/windows-10-might-lock-out-other-operating-systems.h... Windows 10 Might Lock Out Other Operating Systems : PERSONAL TECH : Tech Times
Also I'm reading that the Ubuntu version is 1gb RAM, 8gb storage: http://www.extremetech.com/computing/202907-intel-compute-stick-vs-asus-chromebit-should-you-wait-fo... Intel Compute Stick vs. Asus Chromebit: Should you wait for Chrome OS? | ExtremeTech
Can you confirm this as is the only mention of the Ubunutu version being less powerful.
As you know there are 2 versions available: a Windows* 8.1 and an Ubuntu* version. It is very possible that you can either load a different Operating System or make it dual bootable however; my understanding is that if you change the original operating system that would void the warranty and also official Intel support under that condition would be very limited.
I see no technical reason other than getting the correspondent drivers if you decide to load a different Operating System .
So apparently before you go wiping the stick to do some experimenting, make a USB boot stick with CloneZilla and make an image of the flash drive onto external media. (Though, getting CloneZilla itself working may be a challenge due to needed driver support for whatever this device needs.)
This way, if your alternate-OS exploration goes horribly wrong, you can clone it back to the in-warranty original drive contents.
Hah, take that! "Warranty void if original OS is deleted" Pffft. It's void! It's not void! It's void! It's not void!
