I've been trying for a while now to update the firmware on my galileo board, but I can't find a solution. When openning the Firmware Updater I get the message: "Galileo not found on COMx! Please make sure that you select the correct serial port and that you have permission to access." I've been through the User Guide several times and yet I don't know what's the problem. The Galileo driver is up to date. Any Help?

Hi Camila,
Thanks for the screenshots provided. The Intel Galileo can run on either the onboard flash drive or a microSD card, the onboard flash firmware allows you to develop using the Arduino IDE and using the microSD card image allows you to develop using Java, JavaScript, C++, or Python. The two images have different USB drivers, see this link for more details: https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/galileo/downloads https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/galileo/downloads.
Regarding your issue, it is strange that you are getting that message if you are selecting the correct serial port, I would like to know if you installed the driver inside the Galileo driver folder (linux-cdc-acm.inf), also, did you remove the microSD card from the Galileo? Are you following this guide: https://software.intel.com/en-us/installing-drivers-and-updating-firmware-for-arduino-windows https://software.intel.com/en-us/installing-drivers-and-updating-firmware-for-arduino-windows?
I'll be waiting for your reply.
Regards,
-Yermi A.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I did manage to flash it, although I had to use another PC, running linux. I still don't know if it was a problem with my drivers or maybe some incompability with windows 8... But everythings working fine now.

You are right, the downloads page is not working.
Please send a PM so that I send the 10MB .zip (for windows) I downloaded some time ago from the downloads page.
Anyhow, I think the download page is expected to work again soon...
HTH,
Fernando.
