I had success, but my path was slightly different; I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.1 Pro and then let it upgrade to Windows 10.

Hello, jjung:
I would like to know what is the issue you are having with this, was the key rejected? Did you get any sort of error message?
You could provide me with a screenshot of the issue to better understand the situation. Just make sure you delete the key from the screenshot, this could be done with Paint.
I look forward to your reply.

Esteban C

Hello Esteban,
the key isn't accepted to activate windows 10.
My key is now stuck after a Windows Update...so i can't show you a screen copy.
I don't remember the error code, but i was getting one for sure.
I'll contact the support to make a RMA on it.
Thanks

Hello,
Just found a solution !!!
I've found a post on Microsoft giving a Windows 10 Pro Generic Key :
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/windows-10-ent-build-105... http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/windows-10-ent-build-105...
I did enter it to change my version, it worked.
After a reboot, Windows asked me a working key for Win 10 Pro. I intered the one from my MS VLSC and it worked !!!
