I use a powered usb hub and my external portable hard drive works. With a non-powered usb hub it will probably not work.

Hi Suraboi,
The Intel® Compute Stick has a USB 2.0 with the following specifications.
Full size USB 2.0 port with maximum current of 500 mA (Current). The USB port is high-speed, full-speed, and low-speed capable.
Double check the specifications of your USB hub, it needs to meet the requirements of the portable drive.
Regards,
Mike C
