Display Issue

I have an Intel Compute Stick that will not display even after I've hooked everything up correctly. I have the HDMI cable that came with it plugged into a HDMI to DVI-D adapter since my monitor doesn't have an HDMI port. The stick is plugged into power and is turned on, but nothing displays on the monitor. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thank you for joining the Intel communities.

 

 

Most likely the adapter you're using is interfering with the signal, at this point, Intel recommend using straight connection and no any adapters to connect the Intel® compute stick.

 

 

I know that this is not what you want to hear but we have not validated any adapters to work with this unit or any other Intel® product, so we cannot guarantee that it will work as expected.

 

 

You could try other type of adapter and see if it works or wait for somebody else to post here with positive results using different adapters.

Hello Ethan,

I have a adapter wich works with my both compute sticks - but it's VGA not DVI. The audio output also works and the extra 5V cable is not needed:

and you also need this junction to connect the VGA adapter to the compute stick:

Hi Ivan and Naviara,

The IT department I am working with eventually ended up buying a different model since this current one was showing zero sign of display at all. I even tried plugging the stick directly into an HDMI TV which still showed no sign of working. There was also one more downside to this current model, it didn't have enough space for what I was going to do (load Windows 10 Enterprise) so it really didn't make sense to keep trying to fix this one as to just buying a new one that had enough space and works properly. Thanks for the tips though and I'll refer to this if something happens in the future.
