EDISON Drivers wont work on Windows 8.1

I just upgraded my Windows to 8.1 and now the Edison drivers do not work at all.

I already tried https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/disabling-driver-signature-on-windows-8/disabling-signed-driver... Disabling the Driver Signature Enforcement described in Sparkfun.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Have you tried installing the drivers from scratch? If you haven't try installing them again. You can try using the Integrated installer found here https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/edison/downloads IoT - Intel® Edison Board Download | Intel® Developer Zone .

Also take a look at https://software.intel.com/en-us/get-started-edison-windows-step2 IoT - Step 2: Run the integrated installer | Intel® Developer Zone

@Intel_Alvarado,

This is what I got from following the "Integrated Installer procedure" there...

Intel® Edison is now installed

Errors detected during installation. Some components failed to process:

Now that you are done installing your drivers, updating the firmware on your board, and installing your IDE, continue by setting up your serial terminal .

Try with the Flash Tool Lite.

Go to https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/edison/downloads IoT - Intel® Edison Board Download | Intel® Developer Zone and download the latest Edison image, labeled "Release 2.1 Yocto complete image".

Then, download the Flash Tool Lite for your OS and install it. In this link https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/flash-tool-lite-user-manual IoT - Flash Tool Lite User Manual | Intel® Developer Zone you can find instructions on how to install it and flash your Edison with the latest image.

Hi crmakers,

Have you been able to use the board in Windows 8.1?

Regards,

Charlie

Yes. Thanks for following up.

It was an issue with Windows 8,1 image I got installed in my laptop.

We rebuilt it from scratch and now it is working like a charm.

On the other hand still flashing last firmware to the Edison is cumbersome. I have not done so,but it works fine with the WW15 image I have.
